Getting to Know Sandpoint Idaho
Sandpoint is situated in Northern Idaho, a small town on the shores of the beautiful Lake Pend-Oreille. The city of Sandpoint is home to just over 7,000 residents who enjoy bountiful recreation through out all four seasons.

Through The Seasons
One of the benefits of living in Northern Idaho is enjoying the change of the seasons, winter, spring, summer and fall are all amazing in their own special way.

The winters brings a fresh blanket of snow and colder temperatures allowing for activities such as skiing, snowboarding, snowmobiling, and ice fishing. Spring follows with rising temperatures, the snow melts and gardening season begins. You’ll start to notice more and more people working in their yards doing chores and planting gardens.

In the summer the lakes and rivers offer an opportunity to cool down during the warm summer months. Fishing, hiking, hunting, camping, boating and biking are all enjoyable activities to experience during the summer months.

Winter Months

Skiing & Snowboarding 
In the late fall just around Thanksgiving, Schweitzer Ski Resort opens up it’s mountain to downhill skiers and cross county skiers, snowshoeing and snowboarders. The Schweitzer Mountain Resort has over 2900 acres of ski-able terrain and features 92 named runs. With an annual snowfall of 300+ inches Schweitzer is truly a great place to spend your days during the late fall, winter, and early spring months.

Spring Months
During the spring in Sandpoint there is still snow in the mountains but the valleys begin to turn green and when the weather is just right you can spend your morning at Schweitzer enjoying some spring skiing and then spend the afternoon on a bike ride on one of the Sandpoint areas many biking trailer or perhaps take in a round of golf and one of the areas golf courses.

Summer Months
During the summer months many people spend their free time at the Sandpoint City Beach and Park on the shores of Lake Pend-Oreille. This beautiful park features basketball courts, volley-ball nets and a playground for the kids. If you thinking pic-nic you’re in luck Sandpoint city beach also offers outdoor grills and a gazebo equipped with grills as well. The entire park is surrounded with sandy beaches and cordoned areas for swimming with lifeguards on duty until 5:00 each evening. In addition boat rentals are available in the area and a boat launch is accessible from the park.

During the Fall Months
At the end of summer the trees begin to change the color of their leaves and the temperatures begin to cool. This is a great time to take in the scene in downtown Sandpoint.  There are a number of restaurants  and lounges in the area and it’s great way to keep warm and enjoy a delicious meal or an ice cold draft. You’ll find plenty of shopping and arts in the area as well.

In the end, Sandpoint is a beautiful small town with lots of things to do no matter the time of year.
