Browns Lake Campground

Overview

Browns Lake Campground is located in the mountain range to the east of the Pend Oreille River on Half Moon Road in the Newport Ranger District. Camping at Browns Lake offers a tranquil setting, due in part, to the lakes restriction of motorized craft on the water. Canoeing and kayaking, however,  is permitted.

While fishing at the lake you’ll find a few restrictions that allow for excellent fishing opportunities. The lake has been restricted to fly fishing only. While fly fishing you’ll find both rainbow trout and cutthroat are abundant.
